Birmingham Parking Authority, Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition to Unveil EV Charging Station at Avondale Parking Lot
The Birmingham Parking Authority (BPA), in partnership with the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition and featuring city, industry and regional planning officials, will hold a ribbon-cutting on Wednesday for a new electric vehicle (EV) charging station at its Avondale Village parking lot.
The ribbon-cutting will be at the Avondale lot, 109 41st St., on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m.
Andre Davis, executive director and CEO of the BPA, will be joined by BPA Board members, Birmingham city officials, Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition Executive Director Mark Bentley, and representatives of the Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham, Alabama Power, and other business and civic groups.
“It’s incredibly exciting for the Birmingham Parking Authority to be able to make public charging available in such a high-traffic area,” Davis said. “This event will help celebrate the addition of Level 2 charging to the Avondale business district.”
Construction of the EV charging station was funded in part through a grant from the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition made possible by Alabama Partners for Clean Air.
