Mayor Randall Woodfin and other Birmingham city and business leaders will join the Birmingham Parking Authority (BPA) at a press conference Thursday to announce a major initiative to improve parking in Birmingham.

The press conference will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 11, at BPA Parking Deck 2, 801 North 19th St., Birmingham.

In addition to Mayor Woodfin, other participants will include BPA Executive Director and CEO Andre Davis, BPA Board Chair LaKisha Mack, Birmingham City Councilman Darrell O’Quinn, and downtown business leaders.

BPA operates seven parking decks and three surface parking lots in downtown Birmingham and vicinity, with more than 8,000 parking spaces.
